Established in 2006 under the United Educare Foundation by Nilesh Hada, Singapore International School Mumbai was devised as a global institute providing education of an International Standard and benchmarked to the World Class levels of Singapore. Singapore International School Campus

Away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai on National Highway No. 8 in Dahisar East, near to Thakur Mall and the Dahisar Toll Post, is SIS Mumbai, set on an expansive 8-10 acres of green campus which offers a calm and peaceful environment amongst nature. These green and tree shaded facilities are the only such facilities within the perimeter of Mumbai, maximizing outdoor spaces for both play and learning.

SIS Mumbai offers an academic program that is an innovative blend of Singapore’s robust education model and international standards. The curriculum is designed to maximize students’ critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity potential. At the early years (K1 – Grade 6) level students are engaged in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) model incorporated with Singapore’s inquiry-based model and the Reggio Emilia approach to promote child-centered learning experiences across the subjects of languages, sciences, mathematics, humanities, arts and individuals & societies.

Singapore International School Admissions

SIS Mumbai’s admissions process is competitive and in a continuous fashion to accommodate all students with a focus on students whose belief and actions align with the school’s demands for evidence of academic potential and holistic development. Applications are open and occur throughout the year; however, SIS will prioritize early application submissions and students because of limited seating in each grade.

Parents are encouraged to conduct some independent research into the school’s offerings and themes, and to then reach out to the admissions office to discuss any further questions. SIS welcomes applicants from both Indian students and International students with a focus on students who demonstrate curiosity and an international mindset. For the 2025 – 26 admissions process SIS is still accepting applications, especially for the August intake, and for both day students and boarders.

SIS focuses on building a diverse community, and therefore inquiries have been created which will assist SIS in determining how much a child will fit into the community and inquiry-based learning situation.

Singapore International School Admissions Process

• Initiate Online Inquiry: To get started, please fill out the inquiry form on the SIS Mumbai website.
• Schedule Campus Tour: We will arrange for you to come in and visit the campus. This can either be done in person or virtually.
• Fill out Application Form: Please complete the application form, pay the registration fee (between INR 10,000 and INR 20,000), which is non-refundable.
• Evaluation of Assessment/Interaction:
  • For Nursery/KG – Play-based assessment of readiness.
  • For grades 1 and up, a diagnostic test or an interview will determine academic and social readiness.
• Required Paperwork: Documents must be provided, including birth certificate, transcripts, a few photos, a copy of the student’s Aadhaar (if available), and medical records (if available).
• Offer Letter: The school will submit an offer letter to successful candidates (usually within a period of 2-4 weeks).
• Confirm Acceptance: To confirm your seat, please submit the paperwork and the fees.
• Boarder Accommodation: Hostel assignment for boarders will be made based on availability for prospective students.
• Visa Support (International Students): The school will support you with visa documentation as necessary.
• Orientation: Students and their parents must attend orientation sessions before the start of the academic calendar.

Singapore International School Required Documents

To carry out the admission process at SIS Mumbai, parents will be required to provide the following documents:

• Child’s Birth Certificate
• Child’s recent passport-sized photographs (generally 4-6)
• Photographs of parents/guardian
• Aadhaar Card of child and parents
• Last school report or transcript (only applicable for students in Grade 1 and above)
• Medical fitness certificate
• Immunization records
• Proof of residence (such as utility bills/rental agreement)
• Passport copies of international students (if applicable)

All of these documents must be verified as originals, which will then be retained as photocopies by the school. For boarding applicants, some additional health declarations may also need to be completed. The school requests that you are accurate and complete with your documents so that the process can occur efficiently.

Singapore International School Admissions Eligibility

Applicants to SIS Mumbai will be evaluated based on age, academic preparedness, and matching the attributes of the SIS Prague ethos. The following is an outline.

• Age Requirements: Children applying for Nursery must be three years old by December 31 of the admission year (e.g., children who are 3 years old by Dec 31 of 2025-26). Following Nursery, children will move up through the grades: KG at 4 years old, Grade 1 at 5 years old, Grade 12 at 17 years old, etc.
• Academic: For the higher grades (7+), families will be asked to provide previous school reports that show the student has been academically consistent. Students will be expected to have IGCSE or IB qualifications. For Nursery and Primary the academic focus is basic readiness, assessed with parents in interviews and whole child observations.
• Assessment: When considering families for entry into SIS Grades 1-12 students will sit a set of diagnostic tests or participate in interviews which evaluate a student’s cognitive, social, and emotional readiness to learn in an inquiry-based learning model.
• Nationality and Residency: SIS accepts both Indian and international students, and does not restrict students on nationality, unless the boarding option is selected, in which case the family must agree to conditions determined by the SIS.
• Additional: The admissions team will look for evidence of a student’s enthusiasm for participating in the holistic activity criteria. In merit scholarships for higher grades, a student will be required to obtain higher than 95% in the previous school examination.
• Special Needs: SIS will be inclusive for students requiring an additional level of support, pending readiness and preparedness assessment.

Additional costs: Registration (10,000-20,000 one-time), transport (50,000-1,00,000), uniforms/books (20,000-30,000). Scholarships can reduce tuition by 25-50%.

Singapore International School Scholarships

SIS Mumbai provides merit-based scholarships to acknowledge excellence in academia and beyond and open up their door of quality education to students who exhibit potential. Some programs include:

• Chairman’s Excellence Scholarship: For entrance into Grades 9-10 with an aggregate of 95%+ in previous examinations; covers up to 50% of tuition fees, based on competence in sports, service, leadership, and competitions. Eligibility maintained through continued excellence.
• SIS Merit Scholarship (IBDP): For Grades 11-12; students must obtain three or more points on the IB results to qualify, up to 50% of tuition fees if they achieve 38 IB points or 25% without the sport, for a minimum IBDP score of 36 points. Demonstrated excellence in co-curriculars could include participation in external exams, independent research projects or interschool competitions, awarded six times per year with the final IBDP results (40 ib points).
• Application Process: Online application form submitted at admission, available to both new or current students. Applications submitted for the 11 intake of Grade 11; deducted against tuition fees.

The awards promote diversity and reward well-rounded achievements; scholarships do not mention any financial means tested options.
