École Mondiale World School was established in 2004 by the Goenka and Sarda families, as part of the International Knowledge Park. It was meant to become Mumbai’s first full IB school to satisfy the requirements of a cosmopolitan city for International Baccalaureate education to global standards. It has firmly established a child-centred progressive philosophy in collaboration with Principal Finbarr O’Regan and the Board of Governors, combining cognitive curiosity and social conscience with ethics.
Instruction at EMWS is primarily in English, with all learning supported for students for whom English is a Second or Other Language. Students also study Hindi, French and Spanish. There are more than 100 teachers from various countries and international schools in the faculty at École Mondiale, who maintain a 1:6 student-teacher ratio. EMWS is a member of South Asian IB Schools Association (SAIBSA) and Teachers across International Schools (TAISI), promoting global initiatives, community service, and sustainability.
