International School Aamby (ISA), located in the luxury destination of Aamby Valley City, located just outside Lonavala, Maharashtra, is a leading co-educational boarding school providing weekly and full time residential boarding options for kids in grades 3 to 12.
Founded in 2008, ISA is a small community of about 75 kids, devoted to creativity, innovation, global perspectives, and critical thinking in our world academic programs. ISA is affiliated with Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) for our IGCSE, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) for our Diploma Programme (DP).
ISA blends real-world experience with academic rigour on a peaceful, 22-acres campus nestled in the Sahyadri hills. ISA is a day cum boarding school educating our kids to be lifelong learners by joining book knowledge with opportunities in nature.
ISA is a family-friendly community backed by our natural surroundings, providing a balance for families seeking an international education experience near Mumbai, Pune and neighbouring communities.
Initiated in September 2008 by Subrata Roy, of the Sahara India Pariwar, ISA was envisaged as an impactful educational project in the sprawling Aamby Valley City, a self-sufficient township planned for complete living. The school began its life as a unique school with its first students, and with the dedication and support of its educators, became a lighthouse of progressive education.
ISA’s philosophy revolves around encouraging students to rise above the conventional boundaries of education in the service of inquiry-based education that cultivates wisdom, appreciation of beauty, and strength of character.
With a low student-teacher ratio of approximately 1:20, these educators, many of whom have international experience, bring to life a seamless transition through the curriculum: International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for primary years, Cambridge IGCSE for middle school (Grades 7-10), and IB DP for senior secondary (Grades 11-12).
The values of service, movement, and arts nurture an inquiry-based education that assists and prepares students for universities worldwide, all while fostering resilience and empathy, growing from the richness of the diverse, multicultural space of Aamby Valley.
ISA’s infrastructure is a thoughtful combination of modern educational technology and building sustainability that promotes a space for learning and personal growth:
• Academic Facilities: Spacious, air-conditioned smart classrooms that are equipped with interactive whiteboards, science laboratories (physics, chemistry, biology), computer labs specialising in coding and digital literacy, and a library that combines both print and digital resources to support teaching and learning.
• Residential Facilities: Comfortable and well-ventilated dormitories that cater to both boys and girls, separate dining halls serving balanced and nutritious meals, an on-site health care center with medically trained staff, and stationery stores for convenience.
• Technology and Support: Wi-Fi throughout campus for connectivity, innovation hubs for STEAM projects, and counselling services to support students’ emotional health.
• Sustainability Commitment: Rainwater harvesting, green building materials, and other facilities to a sustainable environmental focus community as aligned with the Aamby Valley environmental stewardship initiatives.
The infrastructure creates a safe, hygienic, and engaging environment aligned with ISA’s mission for holistic development.
Situated on a 22-acre rise in Aamby Valley City, Ambavane, Taluka Mulshi (about 90 km from Mumbai and 60 km from Pune), the ISA campus is an architectural masterpiece created by Hafeez Contractor that overlooks beautiful valleys and rising hillsides.
The planning embraces the contours of the natural landscape by combining academic buildings, dormitories, and recreational spaces within the natural landscape into flat play fields in between.
• Outdoor Activities: Large sports fields for football, cricket, and athletics; tennis and basketball courts; nature trails for environmental education; and landscaped gardens to promote biodiversity.
• Indoor Spaces: Flexible auditorium for performances, art studios, music rooms, and a gymnasium for indoor sports and assemblies.
• Community Environment: Being close to the amenities of Aamby Valley, including a multi-faith place of worship and adventure zones, provides experiential learning opportunities while maintaining 24-hour security with CCTV and patrolling.
• Access: Gated access points and shuttle access for weekly boarders create a safe and secure, resort-like climate in the peaceful presence of the Sahyadri hills.
The beautiful surroundings of the campus provide both inspiration and serve as a large classroom for real-world learning.
